Our opinion
After having tried the Sky Crux in the mountains I was very interested in how it would be for soaring.
In flight it’s comfortable with low attachment points. The weightshift is slightly less than the Karver II but still better than the average splitleg harness.
One of the things that set it apart from the Karver II is that it comes with a bunch of nice pockets & features. It has the following storage options:
- Under your legs – One zipped pocket & One pocket for your quickpack bag or gloves.
- Back pocket – Big enough for a rucksack + some other random stuff you might drag around.
For all the influencers out there it has a built-in selfie stick holder with a smart stomach buckle to prevent the camera from swinging around too much.
It also has a bungee from between your legs to your chest strap to prevent straps riding up your jacket and letting the cold wind in. Sky Paragliders really spent some time on all the nice features of the harness.
From our students I noticed that after asking them what they thought of the harness after landing is that they don’t really have an opinion on it because they didn’t notice it. That’s a good sign 🙂
Two things that some people don’t like about it are the lack of adjustability. You can’t change how far you’re leaning back. For me personally it’s okay but if you’re used to a harness that’s more upright it might take some getting used to.
Besides that I’ve also heard from multiple women that it’s not so comfortable for their nether regions.
If neither of these points apply to you will be very happy with the Sky Crux Core.
