Our opinion

After having tried the Sky Crux in the mountains I was very interested in how it would be for soaring.

In flight it’s comfortable with low attachment points. The weightshift is slightly less than the Karver II but still better than the average splitleg harness.

One of the things that set it apart from the Karver II is that it comes with a bunch of nice pockets & features. It has the following storage options:

Under your legs – One zipped pocket & One pocket for your quickpack bag or gloves.
Back pocket – Big enough for a rucksack + some other random stuff you might drag around.

For all the influencers out there it has a built-in selfie stick holder with a smart stomach buckle to prevent the camera from swinging around too much.

It also has a bungee from between your legs to your chest strap to prevent straps riding up your jacket and letting the cold wind in. Sky Paragliders really spent some time on all the nice features of the harness.

From our students I noticed that after asking them what they thought of the harness after landing is that they don’t really have an opinion on it because they didn’t notice it. That’s a good sign 🙂

Two things that some people don’t like about it are the lack of adjustability. You can’t change how far you’re leaning back. For me personally it’s okay but if you’re used to a harness that’s more upright it might take some getting used to.

Besides that I’ve also heard from multiple women that it’s not so comfortable for their nether regions.

If neither of these points apply to you will be very happy with the Sky Crux Core.

What the manufacturer says

CRUX-CORE is an ultra-light harness designed for those who live for flight and adventure. Built on the proven Crux hike-and-fly harness and backpack, it retains its reliable seating position while integrating key features for modern lightweight descent flying.

Ideal for paragliding pilots, mountaineers, and adventurers flying speedwings, miniwings, or lightweight mountain gliders. CRUX-CORE is highly versatile – from ground training and dune flying to alpine expeditions, speedriding, speedflying, and hike-and-fly missions.

Today’s pilots require, above all, a secure and stable mount for their 360° camera. CRUX-CORE therefore offers a reinforced tunnel for a selfie stick with a stabilizing strap that fits snugly against the pilot’s spine and prevents the camera from getting caught in the canopy lines.

Another simple but essential feature is the connection between the shoulder and chest straps. Thanks to this, you will never again experience the unpleasant rolling up of clothing after takeoff, which spoils the comfort of the flight.

When your flying style requires versatility, minimal weight, and reliability, CRUX-CORE is the only harness you’ll need.

Main Features:

Back pocket for a light backpack
Adjustable back section with a loop for a more upright flight position
Right zippered side pocket
Left mesh pocket
Padded tunnel for a selfie stick with a stabilising waist belt
Chest strap attachment system to prevent jacket lifting after takeoff
Low weight
Comfortable in flight
Color-coded risers
