4 – 10 April 2027 · 7 flying days · €1000 · 8 students

Winter Academy Morocco

A 7-day multi-discipline flying trip based around Mirleft, Morocco. The goal is simple: fly and learn as much as possible. Depending on the conditions each day you’ll be thermalling with a paraglider, soaring with a parakite, or doing fast top-to-bottoms on a parakite. You progress in your main discipline and get to try new disciplines while you’re at it.

While Europe is just awakening from Winter, you’ll be flying almost every day in reliable Atlantic conditions.

Who is this for?

Any paragliding, soaring, or speedflying pilot. We’d prefer it if you’re already comfortable with groundhandling. We’ll do some in Morocco too, but solid groundhandling skills mean more airtime for you. Not sure if you qualify? Just get in touch.

Why Morocco?

We’re based in Mirleft, a small town on Morocco’s Atlantic coast. Within an hour’s drive the terrain ranges from enormous sand dunes to inland hills with strong thermals. The sea keeps the weather stable — in April you can expect good flying conditions nearly every day. On the rare bad weather day, there’s no shortage of nearby towns and markets to explore.

Reliable conditions

The Atlantic keeps things consistent. April is one of the most reliable months for flying the entire Moroccan coast.

Diverse terrain

Sand dunes, coastal cliffs, thermal ridges, and scenic arches — all within an hour’s drive of Mirleft.

Multi-discipline

Light wind? Thermalling. Strong wind? Parakite soaring. Calm? Speedflying. Morocco lets you try it all.

Where we fly

Every site around Mirleft has something different to offer. Here’s where we’ll be spending our time:

Nid d’Aigle

On top of a 200-metre ridge with a take-off right next to a restaurant. Outstanding thermalling and soaring, an amazing training ground for versatile flying.

Plage Blanche

A magical place. It’s a bit of a drive and you even have to cross a river, but you’re rewarded with 30+ km of private sand dunes to play on until the sun goes down.

Aglou Mountain & Beach

Aglou beach has everything from sand dunes to a 100-metre cliff. The mountain take-off is similar to Nid d’Aigle and are great for thermalling with the bonus of landing on the beach.

Legzira Mountain & Arch

The highest of the ridges around Mirleft, with some of the best thermals in the area. You land near Legzira, a town literally built into the side of a cliff. It’s also possible to soar above a stunning natural arch. A genuinely scenic place to fly.

A typical day

We start each morning with a weather and site briefing, then head to whichever site fits the conditions best. If the wind is light and thermic, we go paragliding. Strong wind? We fly parakites. Very little wind and no thermals? We do some speedflying/parakite top-to-bottoms(or normal paraglider if you prefer that).

You fly as much as conditions allow, with coaching on the ground and in the air between flights. On the rare day that the weather doesn’t cooperate, we’ll visit the surrounding towns and markets or just relax in Mirleft.
